Jill and Chris Parmeter opened their Happier At Home office in Spring, TX in 2017. They saw a need in their community for a service to help seniors after a personal experience. With aging parents of their own, each has been through the turmoil of having to address the various physical and mental challenges that have arisen over the past several years. Recently, Jill’s father had emergency heart surgery two days before she left on an overseas trip. While fortunate to have family members who were able to come into town to lend support during her dad’s recuperation, Jill realized first-hand the concern an adult child has when their parents are unable to care for themselves when they are thousands of miles away. Both Jill and Chris are graduates of Klein schools, and have spent the majority of their lives in the area. Jill has been in the “caring” business for 30 years, having been a teacher and compliance manager in Klein ISD, as well as educating tomorrow’s teachers as a professor at University of Houston and other colleges. Chris recently retired from over 25 years in the environmental services industry, with extensive experience in sales, marketing, and operations management. While Chris’s background is primarily in the business world, he has been responsible for identifying the specific concerns of the client, and developing solutions to meet current and future needs. Utilizing the same type of service-based consulting procedures and listening skills, Chris is responsible for matching Happier At Home’s caregivers’ expertise and personality to meet the detailed needs of each family they serve.
